                  Haven, Pennsylvania. Inspected
and signed off by J.W. McNary, Asst. Chief Engineer, Piper
                  Aircraft Corporation, DMCR 1-1   2954Z
spent most of its life in Eastern Pennsylvania. I purchased the plane
and relocated it to Northern California in late 1999.

Haven, PA | *Due to the
short transfer time, I believe these organizations were
dealers.  I know that Scranton Airways is the original
Piper dealer that sold 54Z originally to the Scranton Tobacco
Co.  The CD records from the FAA included the transfer
document from Piper to Scranton Airways that indicated a fee
of $1.00.  What a deal! Major
events in the life of 54Z include having the engine replaced
with a Lycoming Factory Remanufactured engine in August of
1967.  In 1970, a major overhaul of the airframe was
completed including an overhauled propeller.  Most
recently, the previous owner performed a frame up restoration
which was completed in 1998. The
aircraft appears to have been flown regularly up through 1991.
From 1991 through 1998, there are no log entries.  The
previous owner, Cleon Watts, purchased the aircraft in 1996
and took on the task of restoring the aircraft.  All new
fabric, interior, paint, updated panel, and lots of fine
detail work created the version of 54Z that is seen today. The engine, a Lycoming
O-320-B2B, has not been overhauled since 1967 when it was
remanufactured at the factory.  During the most recent
restoration, the engine was opened up and inspected.  The
cylinders were honed, new rings installed and all new seals.
As of 2020, total time on the engine since the reman was around 1150 hours.  The
last annual showed good compression in all cylinders, oil
analysis samples are normal and the performance has been great. I purchased the aircraft in
late 1999 and performing additional upgrades which
                  include:
